This guy should be a poor performer.
When I made this post, I was referring to pay levels at the age of 40 ( 16-17 yoe for guys). This isnt a D1 salary level, but rather a D3-D4 level. More realistic for D1/SM5 at 13 yoe would be 14k*17months (238k) and 13k*16months (208k) respectively.

Yes, if you are willing to put in 70-90hrs for your first 5 years of your career in Big 4.
Nowdays young punk doesnt even want to work more than 50 hours per week and expect 10K/month in their late tenties

Not everyone can be Software engineer/working in Tech easily earning five-figure per month.

You meant late twenties?
Agreed, now everyone all want to study comp sci.
High pay with better work life balance unlike accountancy.
Avg Starting pay for a nus comp sci fresh grad already 6K.
Big 4 auditor dont even hit this after 4 years.

Audit is still stuck in the age of the industrial revolution. Those farking chao boomer partners like Max really need to wake up their farking idea. EY partners like to talk until audit macham like saving lives but their only intention is to squeeze you dry to maximise profit.

Wait do u guys even know the difference between the objective of a partnership and corporation?
Partnership aims to maximise profits for partners, whereas aim of corporation is to maximise shareholder value. Of course corporation pays it's employees better. But an employee almost never makes as much as a partner.

If you grad with lousy grade/Sch and no good internship to speak of.... then no choice lol....
At least Big 4 may still willing to give chance and consider to take them in....
If they willing to slave for them for a few years, get Big 4 printed on their resume...would give them a new lease of life to join other MNCs later
