slightly less than 6mths back i interviewed 2 candidates from big4. they were both am and drew 6k and 6.5k respectively. both said this is all in no additional allowance, aws, bonus.

Default to high for am

if by am you mean it's assistant manager, then the above is too high. which means this people are only fetching for higher salaries on their next move, ask for the pay slip if you really want to know the truth, from there breakdown can be seen. there are also exception to the rule, such as expat whites coming in from other offices, they normally demand higher rate than their local counterpart, sad but true.

but if by am you mean Audit Manager, then the range is fine.

btw, this year, the big 4 gave out 2 - 3 mos of bonus, if you factor that amount then the salary is a bit higher.

i meant assistant manager. 1 is indian another is malaysian. maybe relocated staff gets a bit more? anyway, they weren't suitable.

i remember few years back a friend who used to work a short stint in big4 told me the pay there is quite transparent. no screw up then annual increment is $500. increment years another $1k. that's the general rough guideline.

fresh/associate 1 $2.5k
associate 2 $3k
consultant $4.5k
senior con $5k
am $6.5k
mgr $8k

this friend entered mid-career into mgr and i only know his take home was 5-fig including think $800 allowance. joined from bank avp and gov scholar before that. he's off the scale but maybe his cred helped.

my other friend whose wife was an audit mgr in another big4 had a combined salary of 14k+. i know my friend then was 6-7k so put his wife is in the range about 8k.

some years back i had an ex-collague joining big4 as consultant. his pay was 3-4k then so even if there's no raise (only for experience) 4k for consultant is quite inline with the scale above.

i heard that the 5th (accenture) pays a freshie 5k after 3yrs. in all, the numbers that i got from close friends, hearsay, and interviewees are not far off.

Your data is over the limit, i am still in big 4 now and is 2nd year senior manager, i have data from hr about rates we provide our incoming staff, so yours is inaccurate..too high!

Previous poster had his data right, please browse above and ignore the data where manager gets 8k above is too much, btw, name the firm and me and my colleagues will rush to move if that is true..max for manager is 8k, unless you counted in the cpf allowance for foreigners, please let us talk about base rates...

I am offered 16k/month for senior manager role in banking risk advisory, and potential to be partner in 2 years depending on revenues brought in.
It is a 25% pay cut from where i am from, but more stable.
Any advice?

Reject it. Simple decision.

You have never set foot in the company - it only looks good to you now, but you never know what you will really get.

If I were you, I would accept it as banks need Basel 3 compliance by 2018 which means a lot of demand for advisory work. Partner for such advisory role can fetch at least 1million in bonus

Pathetic, for a senior manager role in Big4 consulting anything less than 18k/month is a joke. Negotiate for at least another 2k more.
