You can absolutely make 500k at the staff level, just that there are very few such roles here.

In any case, the guys I'm referring to work at the likes of family offices, JS/HRT tier HFTs, even some local bank SVPs I know cleared 500k last year. Many more make excellent money in the Bay Area.
