Is it better for the audit industry to face a manpower shortage or to be flooded with graduates?
There are differing concerns depending on the situation.
Some argue that an oversupply of graduates may drive down wages, leading to "cheap labour" and potentially reducing the attractiveness of the profession in the long run.
On the other hand, a lack of manpower gives existing audit staff stronger bargaining power. With fewer professionals entering the field, firms may be forced to raise salaries significantly to attract and retain talent, which could strain profit margins or raise fees for clients.
