I think it is better for people to do something else since audit culture and hours are just crazy. But the experience had been helpful for me and some of my friends. I guess make the best of what you have, and look for green paths when you decided time is up.

Big 4 better when u made to partner.. definitely, but seeing the margin of all our engagements getting lower, with mid-tier picking up the quality and popularity among clients, technology disruption, hard to tell 10 years down the road if a partner still brings home that lot of money

not to forget maybe 1/1000 associate eventually made it to partner, after 15-20years

meanwhile at this chance and yr of experience, u could alrdy be a CFO/MD if in industry

but do agree with u, if alrdy there, just make the best out of it, if u see yourself going thru all the grind and make P. good for u

if u dont, try to write yourself a good resume and get out asap

Do you feel left out and lonely in your engagement team especially when they are all filled up with the jiu hu ppl?

Everyday their topic is all about when going back their homeland, how much they miss their home, their simi university ah, their acca, etc etc. Topics that I don’t even relate or interest me. Sometimes whole day I can diam diam don’t talk one. Now peak season liao still need see their face everyday so sian.

I realise there are alot of malaysians in accounting industry, my clients office also. Get use to it while you can.
