Highly not recommend anyone to work in HSBC. Heard some reliable information that the management are high political and play favorite. If you are not in their good books they will find ways to make you quit.

HSBC ought to be investigated for its discretionary payments. There is no transparency on how commissions are paid

Yes, they can be quite ruthless if you make a mistake. Saw one staff who had at least 30 years of experience getting fired. Indeed the mistake is severe but it did not cause any losses to the bank or customer.
