Guys how do you get used to working from 9am till 9pm everyday Monday to Friday? Do you slowly build up to it or just suck it up? Previously I did 9am till 7pm then on weekends I spend a few hours.. now I feel like just doing 9 to 9 on weekdays then I can save my weekends,

any thoughts?

Piece of cake when you get booked on the most famous job in A1 that requires you to work 9am to 3am at a super ulu bird don’t lay egg place in Singapore.

You either quit or become a survivor and a highly rated senior.

When I was in tax I was allocated the worst clients in the par ‘s portfolio

Nobody defended me when I said I had been working 9-2 am almost every weekday, and 8hours on weekends for full 3 months during peak

During round table? The only feedbacks were seniors and mgrs asking me to be more efficient

F this place man those who got my portfolio left soon after too. Guess they are also inefficient

Wow respect to you both,

I OT abit only and I feel so wronged, maybe different generation, I'm too much of a crybaby I guess lol. I just cant bare having to OT this much and get nothing in return, like I don't even know if there's any recognition at all since it's the norm here.

Guess I'll just suck it up or find a better job.

What's your rank? I think it really depends on your engagement portfolio and company.

Some engagements might be easier, and some companies may have more resources.

We try not to work on weekends if possible. However, for tight deadlines or high peak periods, you may need to work on weekends, mostly from January to June.

I think it’s a combination of building up and sucking it up when you’re an associate. Lol reminds me of the mental torture of working until 5 am or on weekends because senior asks to submit certain work by certain dates. It gets easier once you get used to It.(in a bad way)

Not much recognition since it’s the norm. Well at least you get compensated with Ot allowance or grab if the engagement has budget. Lol

I respect your generation who knows what they want, and is willing to just pack up and leave. Force them to increase salaries and welfare.

Whereas my generation too passive, no matter how bad it gets, we just suck it up and swallow, which seems to make them think its ok to continue.

Just make use of your status as an A1 to act a bit blur and ask **** ton of questions. Taichi to your seniors when you really cannot tahan anymore (yes sucks for the senior but you gotta make sure you don't die yourself first)

9am to 9pm Mon-Fri is a godsend in audit. If it's non-peak, you shouldn't need to work on weekends. The key is to get good clients - in my case, large enough to stretch for long periods and have good system/no issues but not large enough for stakes/pressure to be too high and deadlines too stiff. Normally I just have an enjoyable dinner and exercise so that it doesn't feel mundane to work till late.

Why did you accept audit in the first place though? Can't find any other job?
