And to be frank, I don't think managers last time factor in intern as extra headcount. Intern do work = more work for the team since the awp will be crap and they can't be responsible for bad awp.
Yellow depends on engagement/manager also. My previous engagement, intern OT everyday till 10pm

Haha, I didnt choose the right course to study back then.
Anyway, I guessed am not doing too badly compared to an average degree holder at my age.
Current Pay wise close to 150K -160K p.a.

Me after grinding 8 years+ in Big 4, am a Senior Mgr now in Big 4.
Am working only 50-55hrs/ week now. When I am a SA1/SA2, i used to work 80 hrs/week....
Work life balance improves when u go climb higher....

Don't worry about it lol trust me on this, no real tech dev who actually makes the crazy inflated amount that fresh grads do would ever come on this dog **** trash forum just to **** on people.

They're busy either enjoying their high salary or building personal projects and upskilling.

The tech devs here are either
1. losers who make average, trying to act all high and mighty
2. cs students who havent even graduate LOL
3. non-tech people with 0 idea

If you look at stats published by MOM, the pay after 10 years is ok and it should be at a decent percentile. You can have a decent standard of living being auditor for life.

The real joke is the disconnection that those in the big 4 (M, SM, partners) think such working hours are normal, putting people on multiple engagement is normal, trying to reduce engagement size and hours claims while covering more scope every year, lack of coaching and audit quality and others.

I didn't stay too long as a senior, but was happily ignoring my managers' push for reduced hours without changing scope of work. The only way that can be done is to work but not put it on timesheet. It sound silly, but there are managers who create such practice of not logging in hours to look budget positive on paper

Grind 10 years for a “decent” salary, no wonder people not buying this nonsense anymore.

SMs here say life is good, or if you rise to SM life is better. With the amount of churn at the junior level / senior level, you think things will get better or worse?

Tbh b4 starting to feel like NCS equivalent, full of cost cutting and mediocre work

Lol, auditors are underpaid unless they make partner. This is straight facts. Once u make partner, money comes in like a waterfall and makes the grind worth it, most leave before this ever happens. It is certainly possible to jump from big 4 and direct admit as partner in mid tier firm, but the pay grade will be adjusted accordingly to audit fees

Agreed. Most auditors who move to corporate after 3 years probably outearn the majority of fools on this forum.

Is it better to start in corporate/commercial as a finance executive or start in big 4 as an audit associate after graduation?
