Even a Level 9 consultant under S&C has a much higher increment and salary. But now with this TAP, trying to balance S&C hires pay… consulting people suffer lo. Same salary, yet hiring process also remain tougher not any easier LOL. Now with TAP, when you hit Level 9 and go back to S&C dte, your consultant salary is much lower as compared to the level 9 consultant salary for consulting back then when they didn’t combine consulting into TAP.
Ya damn dumb like all new hires must go through TAP which don’t even make sense. Ya 1 plus 2 promotion is fast for tech dte, but consulting dte when you promote form analyst you jump to consultant in 2 years or if longer it’s 3 years but your salary and increment are higher. So this 1 plus 2 just hindering consulting analysts and senior analysts under this tap. But for those bus n integration ones then it will benefit a lot lah last time a lot analysts left cos stuck at analysts for 2 years, May be also there’s so many staffs under the tech dte

Consulting isn’t just change…that’s what the tech people don’t know. Tech people in system implementation projects think consulting people do change only that’s cos your implementation project need change (change is one out of 5 sub offerings in consulting) so can only base consulting people there. Consulting people also don’t want to go to those implementation project not even fun or useful for us, but since there’s that demand there to fill no choice lo. To help you and everyone else understand further, please go and look up the S&C site for the offerings.

Actually consulting side the promotion better leh, heard that this dec round a lot of consulting people from the change management pod got promoted exactly at the 1 year mark and a lot got to consultant from snr analyst in less than 2 years. The consulting people also like more fun everytime meet for this event and that. Tech side fight promotion fight until like hell. It’s just now with this tap for the first three years then being down consulting side the pay. But once you get out of tap, your increment and all will be much higher than tech side already same as the previous consulting program before tap so I think still better actually.

If you come in as consulting development analyst you’re not guaranteed to be aligned to S&C after you graduate out of TAP. ONLY those who are consulting analyst and under the change mgmt pod in TAP are confirmed and automatically aligned to S&C after they graduate out of TAP, that’s where you have your consulting offerings (Org strategy and design, talent strategy & development, hr transformation, leadership & culture, change mgmt). Reason why consulting analyst or senior analyst take on change management roles more often is because change management is the most basic of the 5 offerings and the other 4 offerings typically require at least a mgmt consultant level, besides the fact accenture has so many tech implementation projects. But if you’re not even part of S&C holding a strategy role or a consuming role, fat chance you even get to hold such roles.

Not sure why they market BA pod as consulting pod when it’s not LMAO, and those consulting analyst end up in BA pod are not guaranteed a spot in S&C after TAP, only a portion of them and it’s subject to availability. In case the tech people do not know, consulting analyst in BA pod end up holding exact same roles as business and integration analyst in projects which are the typical Business Analyst or even Developer role for some of them. That’s the reason why when you apply and you specifically indicate you want consulting offer and in Change mgmt pod, hard to get. Some of course got this offer just nice when the pod is looking to bring in people, but if not usually every month they only bring in on average 5-6, some month as low as 1-3.

Sigh. No one said that consulting is all about change.

If you were to remove change from the equation, consulting folks are mainly doing TOM, research studies and BPR. I’m saying that these projects are not common. Therefore, like what you said, consulting folks are pushed to take up the change workstream in a SI project. But are the other offerings that you were saying common? No. I am in consulting myself and I haven’t been doing those consulting projects that you’ve mentioned.

It’s not about not knowing what’s available, it’s about coming to terms with what’s there in the pipeline and being realistic.

I feel it's quite hard, either you lucky and manage to switch to a new project or it's time to switch a company

Doesn’t make sense leh somemore the join date is towards the end of the year so there’s no talent discussion for those who joined during that time so it only make sense to have the same standard bonus?
becos...

Life is unfair

move on....
