in 2022, they say 1 is guarantee, but 2 is depend on ur tenure and experience
in 2023, they say now too much lvl 9, so they will freeze promo and see whether you ready to be promoted or not

In the last fireside chat, they didn't show the 1+2 promo chart anymore, I guess they no longer want to give specific timelines, and now just promote if you are "ready"

Those promoted in 2022 and 2023 June one, lucky you

you guys are the last 1+ 2 batch
I think it’s still 1+2. The 2 part was never a guarantee. It’s based on readiness. What makes you think everyone can lead a team.

So true, I’ve met ex-MBB folks, who came from prestigious overseas U, and when they transited out, all they can do is talk fluff (or what they call strategy). Their ideas are so detached from reality and can’t be implemented. Yet they still earn big bucks just because they can talk and present well

Nobody care if they can lead or cannot lead

they just want the lvl 9 pay and then can jump to other company for even higher pay

Haha that’s why there is talent discussion. To identify those that are not ready and not promote these people.

If not there would be so many unqualified leads.

Yes this is the hard truth.
I was promoted in June 2022 to SA. Pay bumped from 4.9 to 5.4. But then no base pay increase since then.
This coming Dec I will be in this firm for 2 years + but < 3 yeara, I technically I didn’t satisfy the 1+2 years time for L9.But due to no base pay increase,I am still drawing fresh graduate pay of 5.4k. I have made up my mind already, if I didn’t get the promotion next June I am just going to man mode / be on bench until they fire me or I find a new job. Is time to move on by then

L9 is never a “lead” , more like a more senior analyst who guide other new analyst.
Only L8 and above then can be considered a lead, where you start to plan/ approve WBS and leaves. And report in overall weekly/ monthly project meeting for your work stream.

yess that why last time Deepak can say give out Lvl 9 for free

becos Lvl 9 is like normal analyst

Lvl 10 to 9 is easy, but the hard part come in after Lvl 9 to 8

currently I am lvl 9 and I am expected to do weekly project meeting for my work stream, which is nonsense

the recent no increment news, make a lot of people even more despair

anyway I gt a feeling the company is already decide to double down on productivity across the pod and project, each delivery lead will ensure more work is done to ensure efficiency

what does it mean?

- One level will have more task compare to last time
- Project timeline will be more strictly abided, those cannot perform one will be roll out
- Those on the bench one will have lesser month to find project, I heard last time people can on bench for 6 months, but I think they can clamping down on that
- Those who can't take the stress, can't take the heat, will be roll out of the project
- lesser replacement will hired to replace those head count as company working on using AI to save cost

Will it work? I dk, but I think even the MD also dk what will be the impact

Is the newer batch of graduate going to have harder life compared to past year? yes definitely

Does the management care about people leaving the company this and next year? Nope they could be more happy, cos they can save cost without doing retrenchment

It is common

mine project at first when I go for interview, say is some easy easy thing, just set up some simple process nia

after I join, so many task and meeting, then my reporting officer, always not free to entertain me

he put me in care of another senior staff, now I am suddenly under that guy

I mention a few time to the management, but they just say "U must learn and adapt..."

hmm okay
