Only L8 and above then can be considered a lead, where you start to plan/ approve WBS and leaves. And report in overall weekly/ monthly project meeting for your work stream.

Not true. The CL9 in my project already attending weekly/monthly project meetings, planning work for the entire team. The guiding of the analyst is now done by CL10. This is consistent across the whole OG.

Yes. During the interview, they told me that I will be doing consulting work. I ended up doing something technical for about a year and I think that really started my career on the wrong note.

the recent no increment news, make a lot of people even more despair
anyway I gt a feeling the company is already decide to double down on productivity across the pod and project, each delivery lead will ensure more work is done to ensure efficiency
what does it mean?
- One level will have more task compare to last time
- Project timeline will be more strictly abided, those cannot perform one will be roll out
- Those on the bench one will have lesser month to find project, I heard last time people can on bench for 6 months, but I think they can clamping down on that
- Those who can't take the stress, can't take the heat, will be roll out of the project
- lesser replacement will hired to replace those head count as company working on using AI to save cost
Will it work? I dk, but I think even the MD also dk what will be the impact
Is the newer batch of graduate going to have harder life compared to past year? yes definitely
Does the management care about people leaving the company this and next year? Nope they could be more happy, cos they can save cost without doing retrenchment

A ground report of current situation : My friend was placed to project that seems to have a tight budget. Things was so bad initially that the project lead can’t even get the proper WBS charge code, so he ask everyone to charge to unassigned. (Lucky some were able to reverse it but starting from a certain date only)
Just recently I heard from him , management in the project is hinting people to take leaves when things are “quiet”. And they are even planning to loan out resources to another project to do adhoc testing work .

Organisation Groups. Like CMT, H&PS, FS etc. it probably means that the CL9 in your projects aren’t well optimised. Based on the expectation, CL9 should already be leading a team and should be responsible for capacity planning, stakeholders management, weekly reporting. Some of the CL9s are expected to assist in bids already.

CL9 can start to do reporting because some of them are leading a work stream already. Managers lead the WHOLE program, while consultants focus on a workstream of that program.
PowerPoint work is not easy. It’s about storytelling and crafting a story that is easy to people to understand.
