Correct, promotion also donno when can be 1,2,3 or even 5 years.. thats y advisable not to take up offer near the ceiling.. once hit ceiling stagnant there no increment.

I echo the other forum post, do check in with HR again on this, as they are likely to offer you mx 10 instead at 8k..

Ya cannot be, mine only $500 short of hitting the ceiling according to figures found here. Cannot be stagnant like after two years so short right.

is urs a mx scheme or offer from SB and HR say it is similar to mx10?
if you are on specialised scheme where, in most cases, merged a portion of bonus into your base, then you may still be in a mx10 equivalence grade.. but of cause your ceiling will be higher but bonus package diff (usually lower)
ie. Govtech equivalence is grade H ceiling at 9.1k

Thats what i did, hit ceiling after 2 years, so lan lan find other jobs.. who want to stay if no increment, work so hard and yet no increment, only PB..
