Would like to pose a question to all gps here. As we know, the medicolegal burden of clinical practice is getting higher every year (seems easier to get complaint or sued nowadays)

In gp land, cases are generally divided into
A) consult (can be acute or chronic)
B) health screening
C) medical examination (insurance, pre-employment checkups, driver licence etc)

I was thinking which of these have the highest medicolegal burden (consult, health screening or medical checkups)?
I am always thinking for e.g, if you missed a clinical finding during an insurance/pre-employment examination (e.g a breast lump/abdominal mass), can the insurance company or pt' employer come back and sue you should the pt develop cancer in the near future?(e.g within a year)

The possibility of getting sued is always there.
Just do your job properly, archive all medical records properly and you should be fine.
There's also a cost to sue and it can be $120k.
Those diagnoses which are backed by test results are the best.

Running FM like OPS sweatshop will definitely devalue it la. But if they want to make it proper FM like in angmoh land there will definitely be a role for all the MMeders and FCFPers.

Whether Singaporeans can accept seeing a high level "GP" is another matter. Many just want SOC referrals.
Rumours are tumours.

120k can be a small sum for big companies (employers) and insurance companies (for me cases), esp if the quantum involved (e.g insured payout amount) can be up to millions.
I personally think it's unlikely, but I don't know, if it is just me, seem to be getting paranoid nowadays and it is affecting my clinical practice. (E.g I tend to write longer entries/return advice, do more tests just to reassure myself, even though I know pre test probability is very low)

You are insured and will be defended by the insurers. Even if there's a procedural error or a misdiagnosis. Just focus on doing your job properly and keeping proper records.
