You may be surprised, this is not uncommon behaviour, bosses in some other agencies often expect unrealistically high standards across different projects while being unwilling (or apparently unable due to the usual “budget” constraints) to spend more to recruit headcount

I joined another gov agency after leaving IMDA. While I don't deny that there're a couple of sneaky people there, the agency as a whole is nowhere near IMDA in terms of toxicity.

Better to go to private sector where salary is much more competitive. Of course public sector doesn't severely underpay but it's clear that you won't go far as a farmer in the long run.
