Everyday just slog to work and auto pilot.
Time for exit plan I guess

Haha actually I second this. Depends on what you value. I did projects in other industries but I find that the people are not as nice as gov projects. In terms of skills sets wise, I have to say gov ones are stronger cause in other industries, a lot of work is outsourced and the onshore resource might not have more hands on experience.

True, gov projects all the tech folks including myself all auto out there. Private sector projects usually we tech track one hardly get chance to do, always see those consulting or strategy people there. Unfair sia… our specialist in the project also shared last time without the talent advancement program those consulting track earn more than us despite being in the same career level, now standardised with the tap. Like I know consulting more competitive and the offer harder to get than us where we have a big bunch. But still so many gov projects sia in ACN and like all damn many years. Tech folks damn hard to get out once we’re in auto extension throughout :/

Gov projects in a way more stability la, like auto extend across to next phase or wave 😂 hard to be bench. Like imagine those consulting people quite poor thing also, get in harder but end up projects all quite short duration, one end already need to keep finding. Each change in project is similar to finding a new job, with the short duration they have to grasp faster also. Gov projects aren’t all as bad, but it became categories as bad due to that few projects that’s legit terrible. I still think I’m comfortable in the tech track, see the consulting side everyone so competitive and worst ot/wlb can die. Mental stress also short duration, and acn doesn’t pay that well for me to put myself through this.

I am at a cross road.
Joined as fresh grad analyst, promoted to senior analyst after 1 year ish. Pay increase is sad $5400 now. Next promotion will be 2 years later.
Is it a good time to leave after taking the December bonus of 1 month? Really don’t see a point in continuing. I am just auto pilot mode in work everyday. Limited growth and learning

$5400 is decent, the average Singaporean median salary is below 5k.

But you do you. If you can hop to other companies and be certain that you won't be laid off while tech companies are laying off people everywhere then go for it.

I'm also auto piloting at my work but most of these grad programs etc are like that. You are basically just waiting and farming YOE. Once you have enough YOE, like say maybe 2-3+? you can start hopping.

People don't stay for promotions, they stay for the experience and put it on resume because most tech recruiters don't want to hire freshies < 2 YOE. The tech market has always been hot for mid-level to senior roles, not juniors.

If you don't believe me you can go check other tech forums, sub-reddits etc, they will say the same thing. This has how the market has worked for the past 2 decades.

Nope, you should stay, 2 yrs experience doesn't take you to anywhere. Most senior positions out there require at least 5 years experience.

Yup agree with this and the post before it, u need enough years of experience if not sure die when trying to get interviews unless u got referral. No point hopping now just get more exp first. All jobs are brain dead and autopilot kind one unless u working as doctor or some ****.

Since it's just a few weeks away, I would wait for the bonus. If you are planning to venture into the same field, then I would suggest to stay, request for another project (its hard but just try) or tender when you receive another consulting firm offer. On the other hand if you are looking to try other industries and could afford a few months of unemployment, then prepare exit after bonus and expect a lower salary as compare to current.
