Hahaha this is LTA Rail project team in summary. Many Senior project managers are just paper pushers, know how to package swee swee for the directors, but when it comes to technical knowledge, is zero and only know how to squeeze contractors timeline.
Many young engineers learn and do the same. In my few years here already seen the “can work” engineers leave as soon as they get an offer outside, leaving the paper pushers and power point experts

remember the CCL signalling and rolling stock issue some years back? Whole LTA go and troubleshoot with vendors, logs taken but some top management was shocked almost whole LTA no one know how to read logs or decipher, had to throw to vendors. Whole Rail team throw face and end up need utilise DSTA engineers come in, read the logs and use algorithm to deduce it is certain rolling stock that is causing the issue. Really speaks about the capability of current crops of LTA, paper pusher with zero technical.

Last month went for meeting with LTA rail engineers, most of them regurgitating like robots the technical specs.
PMs will ask for time lines

lol your comment also reveal how stupid this forum is. Imagine these engineers don’t follow specs and follow whatever is convenient so that the meeting can end asap, would you dare to take the mrt LTA built?

This is not the worst. Had recent meeting with PCD, the engineers do not even seem to know what they are doing.

Nothing wrong with following specs. But just that engineers in LTA don’t know their stuff. Many are just paper generals with no technical knowledge unlike contractors.
Many a times, the engineers don’t even know what the specs are saying. They will just play spot the difference and hammer the contractor

Typical corporate environment, because it is not a site office, it’s usually a lot of paper work and meetings.
Generally nice environment and centralized location. But moving to Jurong in a few years
