My plan is to quit my current job in Q1 next year, and hopefully land a good IB internship at a MM or BB bank (around midway through my course). In the meantime , because I work with the start up ecosystem and also some large companies in a specific sector, I was thinking of "consulting" for them outside of work on a pro-bono basis to establish some M&A and VC experience over 6 months. Of course, I will also be networking hard with my course mates, alumni, friends already in the Industry and through LinkedIn.
I am hoping to either join as a mid/early career hire at an BB IB or a top asset management firm / hedge fund / family office .
I wonder if you guys have any advice or feedback on my plan and if it is realistic.

You got connection in those top BB IB or a top asset management firm / hedge fund / family office? Don't have no need to talk. Chances very slim to none. Just coz you took a course does not mean you can waltz into one of these firms.

Does anyone comp and opps avail for fresh grads looking to break into in house IR at PE (BX/KKR etc) /placement agents in singapore? seems the opps are limited here.. I have a decent resume interning FO at top BB etc but dont see much internship or analyst opps to even apply for.. would my best bet be to try to network with those who are already in these positions?

Very high for private bankers. Good ones can pull in a million a year including bonus and incentives.
But real question is can you break in. Private bankers are usually people already with connection to ultra high worth individuals. Either father mothers circle or family are already rich and all the auntie uncle are ultra high networth individuals that would invest with you due to "family ties"
If you are a nobody, then your chances to suceed are slim to none. Like if i am an ultra high networth individual why would i take advise or invest with some nobody. Besides, there will always be a pool of private bankers and family offices surrounding these people.
You got no chance
