Hahah I understand what OP meant because I’ve always wondered the same thing. Why isn’t there Management Consulting for H&PS? Suppose if you’re aligned to T&O and in H&PS projects, you can only take up change related or organisation design kind of roles. However, if there is a role for Management Consulting for H&PS, it opens up the doors to taking on functional roles, PMO roles and these are roles that are quite common for MC in FS take up.

With TAP a lot of consulting analysts and senior analyst are not just doing change or op model roles, they take on PMO roles, tester, BA, functional BA roles too. And there’s no such thing as T&O can only take change or op model roles….have a look on the website there’s not just these two offerings in T&O. But yes I’m H&PS consulting ppl are usually holding these roles, but if you VOICE OUT you can take on BA, functional BA roles too. I’m fact many H&PS projects need more BAs anyway. If you keep quiet then of course they will base you according to what’s most aligned. If you prefer BA roles, easier for you to switch out from consulting.

Hahah just stepping in because I thought this comment was funny. Yeah nothing is stopping OP from voicing out and you literally can do whatever you want. But is it aligned to your DTE’s goals? Would that affect your TD outcome at higher levels?

What do innovation consulting consultants do? I’m a SA in TAP and will be graduating out soon, think which should I specialise in. Hardly heard of innovation consulting. Anyone who’s holding this position or know of people in this poisons mind sharing what type of work do y’all do in projects? Is it recommended?

Not the one who replied on this topic, but wanted to ask since you shared on the TD and alignment of goals to DTE. New joiner here btw, is DTE ultimately S&C, Tech, Ops, Somg, Industry X? Now with all new joiners going through talent advancement program, we don’t have a DTE and only pods? So is it if we take on roles different from our pods it will affect our promotion or TD even if we perform well? I’ve heard many people suggesting to try different roles like you know the popular ones such as strategy roles and consulting roles.

Another passer by here. At analyst level, it doesn’t really matter because you are still trying to figure things out. When you are put up for promotion for L9, it does matter because you need to demonstrate readiness and capability to take up roles to wherever you are aligned to. Ultimately, it’s the storyline that you carve for yourself that matters. How are you going to convince the leadership that you can contribute to the growth of your alignment? Also, if you are aligned to a specific DTE but what you’re doing isn’t aligned with the goals that DTE, how can your people lead paint a good story for you during talent discussion?

How do you join the research fellow program? It started in 2021 and saw it on the internal portal. But quite vague leh like submit already then you’re automatically in? Or in only when you’re assigned assignment?
