Part time - more like part time pay, full time load 🤣
Honestly consider changing schools to one with better work life balance

Seeking advice on how the percentage (70%, 75%) is calculated, and if we need to provide a good reason for it, and also how early on we need to inform our RO.
Thank you.

in terms of WLB, i think the current phenomenon is quite likely to be nation-wide rather than just at school level. highly doubt there will be much difference from changing school
i know of people who changed schools, and the workload dropped slightly simply because they are considered "new staff". but after 1-2 years, the workload worsened back to the same amount

Can consider looking at other roles, such as lecturers at ITE, polytechnics. Or if you are senior enough, secondment as NIE lecturer.
Adult education field is growing.

yes a lot of the workload is driven by having to prepare students from changing workplace and higher needs of students across the system - all the way to jc. no way of escaping

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but any advice for this,
Currently teaching in ite business, some of the students are rowdy and clearly don't care. Tried to discipline them only to be called a racist...
Feeling hopeless, like I'm talking to toddlers or something.

Is the yearly merit increment (the pay raise in April) consistent for all officers within the same subgrade? Will everyone get the same increment even if there is a difference in performance grade?

Of course not - it's merit increment so it is influenced by your performance grade

Are you being penalised for this in terms of performance?
