there are a lot of private uni grads in big 4 leh. why do you think the big 4s increasing the pay for A1 level now? obviously not enough manpower. local grads not even joining big 4 and the big 4 accepting private grada

Hi guys, I am a senior audit associate in one of the big 4. Most of my peers told me damn wasted since I have double FCH in accountancy and business in NTU and said that I deserve to be in somewhere better.
Anyone have any comments otherwise?

Your peers probably have not met enough FCHs. You are not the only FCH double degree in audit in recent years, so it is not something special to be frank.
Do you like audit work or see yourself staying in career? Are you able to get other jobs or are there other jobs that you want to do? Answer these questions and you will know if those comments matter or are valid anot.
If you think your good grades are wasted, but have no interest in other stuff and not doing anything to pursue something else, I don't think it is wasted. Clearly you lack initiative and an idea of what you want to do ie perfectly suited to remain status quo

If you are already thinking of a career change (or more drastically a switch in industry), think of what you want to do so, and why, and maybe a mini workplan.
If you are thinking of a career switch just because "your grades are too good for audit", you probably won't do very well in your interview and your next job will not be a happy job too. You will also probably be agonizing over yourself for next few years in audit as you think yourself as too good for the job.

Sorry you trapped yourself in the wrong path liao. Your FCH was most valuable when you were a fresh grad. After so many years working in audit, it has depreciated to almost nothing already.
Abandon any notion that you're "too good for audit" with a FCH. It doesn't matter now since when you go outside, you will be judged the same as a non-FCH auditor looking to leave audit.
Give you an analogy: Ms Universe marry a useless bum husband, married for 4 years with 2 kids. If she were to divorce and look for another far better husband, her Ms Universe credentials ain't worth much. She should have looked for a higher quality husband right after she won the competition.
