Don't use resignation to threaten partners

Which stupid audit firm say they are no.1 to increase salary? Then get praise by AWRC?

My tone sound like I comparing meh?

I'm just saying $4.1K = OK because of inflation and last time money bigger

Now go everywhere, fresh grad chao chao $5K salary

I'm saying seniors now buay song pay increment for fresh graduate, then tell HR lah

Tell HR you one person can tank 2 or 3 person associate job
Based on this alone, you can tell the partners or the firm doesn’t really care about the local accounting graduates or the accounting industry. It’s more focused on how they can retain their current pool of existing staff, whom they are very much dependent on, before they lose them to EP expiry.

You don’t have to be local either. All are welcome to join. It’s a very low barrier to entry.

For the full-time job, I think they are doing that now. Bargaining power to pay less?
Are you from NTU? Why would you be happy to see bad things happening to your juniors or local graduates?

Lol you all bet on the wrong horse man.

10-15 years ago, accounting looked safe and somewhat prestigious field for medium-flyer students. With the promise of a first job in a shiny big corporate brand name like EY, Deloitte, PwC, how can one go wrong by choosing it?

But the writing was always on the wall with race to the bottom fee undercutting and lowering of standards by importing third worlders.

Industry always moves faster than education. Audit and other accounting jobs were losing prestige faster than what was reflected in uni IGP scores and selectiveness. There's a time lag.

That's why all the good A Level scorers who selected accounting thinking it will translate to the prestige they 'deserve' when they enter the job market, were so shell-shocked when they find out that it's pure dogswork done by Malaysians or capable of being outsourced to other poorer countries. Hence, all bitter and jaded.
