I think my biggest concern probably is if ISCA go MRA another *ahem* just like cpa aust, we are screwed even further.
Don't ask me for source but I know that UK and SG is negotiating a treaty at the moment and one of the negotiation point is RMA between ACCA and ISCA._

As both institutions' member, I hope that will happen. I did my ACCA via the traditional route without exemptions and I have no doubt the rigorous demand of the syllabus despite being paper winner for a few subjects. Collaboration and not just competition is what will grow the quality of accounting in the region._

What are the benefits of being an ACCA holder?

What's wrong with ISCA signing MRA or RMA with ACCA?

Some existing audit partners / public accountants were ACCA members. These PAs used their ACCA to get their ICPAS / ISCA CA. Now also running audit firms.

Also last time ISCA also signed RMA with ACCA. Note: Whether is called MRA or RMA last time....ACCA member can become CPA under old ICAPS.

Last time:
2004 - ISCA signed MRA with CPA Australia
2005 - ISCA signed MRA with ACCA

Back then there were no what Chartered Accountants Worldwide

I'm curious.

How does the promotion work in Big4?

If a guy is so good, efficient, fast in preparing audit working paper and fast in vouching work, why promote him so fast until he become manager?

Why not let him to just keep on working as audit working paper preparer instead of reviewer?

That is why smart people will never take the exams. Why pay so much for the exam fees and enrolment classes to get CA when it was given free to local uni grads/ACCA/CPA Australia/ICPAS via 5 day workshop?

Now do half u-turn somemore just to get more CA members on board. At this juncture, the best scenario for all is to have accelerated path for those who took the exams to become CA faster and another non-exam path for people to clock CPE and working exp to obtain CA (longer route).

My error,

From wiki.

Pro-Tem Singapore Accountancy Council was formed in September 2010.[11] Bobby Chin was the first chairman of the PSAC. Under his leadership, the PSAC laid the groundwork which led to the development of the Singapore Qualification Programme (QP) and the Singapore CFO Institute.[10] In October 2011, Michael Lim, chairman, Land Transport Authority, took over as chairman from Mr Bobby Chin.
