3rd year: 5150 (10% promotion increment to EPE)
4th year: 5350 (4-5% merit increment)
5th year: 5570 (4-5% merit increment. This is where you'd be if you had joined LTA as fresh grad)
One thing to take note is that it'll likely take another 2-3 years before you're considered for SPE, if you take up the EPE offer now. Do factor that into your consideration if your main concern is that you're lagging behind your peers in terms of titles.

Those that have been in LTA knows that the scholars will have higher CEP and around $500 more than other FCH people.
So it builds up like this:
3rd Class honours
2nd Class lower honours = 3rd Class + $200
2nd Class upper = 2nd Class lower + $200
1st Class = 2nd class upper + $200
Scholar = 1st class + $500
Add $200 if you did NS.
Pay is $5k now for this year's fresh grads. The pay of fresh grads will always be matched to market rate. Those that graduate in poor times like Covid drawing $3.8 to low $4k is just bad luck.

Been in LTA before, this is accurate. The guy above that says 4.5k for fresh grad is not possible has obviously not been in LTA.

This is why most young people don't stay in the company. Will always be short-changed with time if you don't promote.

Sorry not from LTA but just curious...assuming the most basic starting is 3.8k from 3rd class...
3rd class = 3.8k
2nd lower class = 4k
2nd upper class = 4.2k
1st class = 4.4k
Scholar with 1st class = 4.9k?
And if male scholar...5.1k?
That's like a staggering difference of up to 1.3k for starting salaries just based on qualifications alone...Is the whole public service THAT specific for starting salaries??

$3.8 isn't 3rd during that time. It's for 2nd upper.
So yes it is very low compared to what the current batch is earning now.

lol fking boomer can’t get over the fact that that’s the norm now? Are you in ur own silo working on insignificant projects? Suggest you talk to younger LTA colleagues during lunch break, they’re more than happy to share the pay or comp package. Here’s an advice for you: LTA does not reward long term employees or old timers who are loyal. Their pay will always be disproportionate compared to fresh grad who just joined. Don’t be surprised if your younger colleagues earn more than you despite having a lower rank or title, because the starting base is the ultimately deciding factor. It’s also why scholars and those bonded quit LTA once they complete their bonds; they are smart enough to notice this structure.

4.5k as a fresh grad (2nd class upper) is definitely true.
4th year into LTA and earning 8k/mth annualized with bonus. 29yo this year.
Watching in anticipation who will be the next Group director of rail
