I was a lowly HR staff who sat in for his interview with the HR Director at that time (fresh out of sch at that time n had to take notes). I recall this interview very vividly because it was one of the more refreshing ones where the person is saying something more memorable and less politically correct. He did not badmouth JK at all (but did bring up some names of other less hardworking ppl in the organisation when the HR Director pressed him for it, some of whom have been complained about and have poor work reviews already when we looked into it). He was making a case for how 10% of all the employees were doing 90% of the work, and said that the workforce at IMDA could be halved and the pay of the hardworking employees increased to be commensurate with their efforts, and still the efficiency of the organisation will go up. He sounded very logical but I could tell that he was very demoralised already (he said he did not feel his compensation matched his work output) and his tone sounded a little exasperated, like he was saying something that should be very obvious to us. He was quite charming and polite if I may add, and was looking at me too when he spoke (most interviewees only speak to the HR Director and treated me like I was transparent, which probably explains why I have a better memory of him). Later, the HR Director reported her findings to the CE, but JK distorted what he said to make it seem like he was a self-entitled and arrogant scholar when he did not come across as such to me at all. So the CE and other directors had an incorrect impression of what he said or felt. Think JK was afraid he badmouthed her or it would look bad on her department like she was overworking all her staff, thus she decided to throw him under the bus and cast him in a bad light, which made me feel quite wronged on his behalf, but who am I to speak up in a room of Directors and above?

I am a small-time HR staff and have no impact on decision-making or the culture at all, so please direct your angst elsewhere. But I can confirm that IMDA's turnover rate (especially among the DD and D levels) has been on the rise with LCH's inception into the organisation. For senior appointment holders, it is very difficult to get them out of the organisation. It would need to be triggered by someone more senior than LCH.

Are you able to shed some light on why many people from HR seem incompetent? It's not just about bullying and toxic behaviour from senior appointment holders (which Chief of HR should take action on), but also the attitude of people in HR - being unhelpful to staff, telling lies etc.

"KICKED back"? From what I heard, he tendered his resignation but was offered a position by HR, and reluctantly accepted it to give it a final shot. Also hear that he's started a biz now and is doing quite well for himself. Anyway, anywhere is better than this shithole excuse of a company.

By the way, what are you smoking and what makes you think you can come onto a forum and give false statements. Are you JK? If you are, please read all the posts and reflect on what you have done, instead of being so paranoid and thinking that there is only one person who has suffered under you and is posting about your misdeeds (I know this might help you sleep better at night, but trust me, there are many many ppl who hate your guts).

(Source: I report to a Director who was at odds with JK (there are quite a few of them so I guess my identity is safe), and had lunch with said scholar several times, once after he returned from his secondment. My Director also bitched to me often about this JK and the **** that she pulled at meetings with CE, some of which I have witnessed for myself. And my Director actually used to be quite close to this JK but fell out with her later after being frontstabbed and backstabbed by her multiple times.)

Mm I can't speak for the whole HR, but based on my experience, HR ultimately reports to CE and the HR culture is influenced a lot by the senior appointment holders (in all the closed-door meetings). HR also exists to serve the needs of the organisation, and who holds the most decision-making power in the organisation, and who decides the amount of bonus to give to the HR dept? The senior appointment holders of course. Thus, HR will naturally serve the best interests of the senior appointment holders, including the Directors. I'm not justifying the lies and all, but I think this behaviour is no different from agents or recruitment specialists who will do anything to "close the deal" to clock their KPIs. Other times, they see the "lies" as "white lies" to help ppl feel better about the situation, since neither they nor the HR have the power to change anything. That is my 2c

I am not privy to most of the interactions at the higher levels, but what my Director briefly mentioned before is that JK cannot take the heat from LCH, and she also has a personality that tends to clash with other alphas, and LCH is definitely an alpha even though he doesn't look like one. My Director also told me that JK has poor stress management skills and has history of taking NPL or part-time arrangement escape her responsibilities in the past, but she has likely used up all the goodwill and excuses this time for NPL/part-time work, so she has to resort to siaming out of IMDA this time cos her new job scope became too much for her to bear.

People with poor stress management should not be able to climb to a Director position, much less a Cluster Director. Guess she ran out of bosses to suck up to, and her lack of competency and technical knowledge finally caught up with her.

Well done ACE justin ang!

So much so for "developing" the industry...
Proof that June Koh is on this forum. This is something that she would post. Reading the news and finding reasons to blame her ex boss for macroeconomic events that are not within his control. Hi JK, please scram and stop spreading lies and misinformation on this forum. Thank you.
