Media Industry Development
Does anyone here has intel on the media industry development division?
How are the director and deputy director measure up as bosses?
Through linkedIn, I discovered that the D used to be trench buddies with the DD back when they were in MDA (both were ADs in the same department lol). Wonder why he decided to come back to stat board.
When I went for the interview 1-2 weeks ago, the DD asked for my opinions on bureaucracy, and how I feel about amending a piece of paper for 20 times (my mind was like !!!) . I hope she's just exaggerating on the statistics. 20 times is A LOT considering the chain of approval is only AD-DD-D.
Greatly appreciate if anyone can provide insights to this cluster and division.

Don't join media teams
Beware the media team leaders. Their Cluster Director from STB is horrible. She dated her own staff in STB and got away scot free. Abuse her powers in STB cos she 'covers' her bosses there. Same thing going on in IMDA. The new D from industry also got bad rep, talks only do nothing. Stay away.

This means that the poor DD do all the heavy lifting for D. No wonder I keep getting the feeling that she has more power than what her position has authorised her to be. If D is the head, then DD is the neck. W/o the neck, the head cannot turn.
As for the D who only talks but do nothing, maybe he is ********ting his way out of CE's shitty plans and trying to protect his team from him but failed hahaha. I wonder how much of the media team is subjected to the whims and fancies of CE's control.
Most of the frustrations here largely revolved around the CE from the tech side, about how he runs IMDA like North Korea. I don't hear much from the media side.
Interestingly, I discovered that the D and DDs from the marcomms division left IMDA around the same time frame (2022). I supposed this speaks volume of the high pressure rice cooker environment, even for the media side.

That means the poor DD does most of the heavy lifting while the new D ******** his way through. No wonder I get the feeling that the DD has more power than what she is authorised for. The DD is like the neck that causes the head (D) to turn in any direction lol.
Aside from the scandals, the culture in that division is still ok right? No toxicity unlike the tech teams.

It's unbelievable that this farker is still in the same position making the same verbal abuses to his staff. We don't know why HR hasn't has held him to account but we all know that this shows how farked up this organisation is!!!!
