Aiya all started because of this dumbass, what “change mgmt sucks-just teach users how to use system”. Already shows your character and which project you’re on lol. No one attack tech people, just in fact saying which stream/line is harder or more competitive to get into and it’s a fact what lol. Can’t take it then go on attacking others, such a low move. Worked with many lovely technology and software people, so glad never met you before. Hahah good luck with your attitude and guess you won’t survive long. Properly understand what consulting does before stating untrue assumptions.

Those holding the consulting titles are indeed consulting not thinking it’s consulting, whereas those holding tech and software in change management pod not to sure what they prefer, like if they’re just trying out the roles which is totally alright and in fact I think it’s good to try out different roles in projects.

Do note, being in change management pod does not mean you’re doing consulting lmao, only those who are holding consulting titles in their acn job role are doing consulting and part of strategy and consulting dte (consulting development analyst, consulting development snr analyst, management consultant, management consulting manager, mgmt consulting snr manager and so on). Agree with you too that progressing up the level is important.

Lol common sense also can tell why would a company pay ideally well for consulting people to just do ppt. You think someone who only do ppt can go to MBB or other tier 2 strategy consulting firms? Use your brain to think first before asking.

Dk why all the tech people in Accenture like to call themselves technology analyst when all you do is integration and implementation. Not even anywhere close to real tech work. Don’t downgrade tech this way eh, give others false impression like you’re similar standard to those in FAANG or pure tech companies.

In S&C, consulting people are known as Consulting Development Analyst, or Management Consultant. In your project you may see them having the project role called Change Management, well that’s cos your project have this part that requires someone with the closest skill and knowledge to do it which well closest is S&C T&O. Mind you, consulting peeps don’t just do change management lol, there’s more to consulting, change management is just one tiny part of it.
To all who thinks change mgmt is consulting. Consulting is for those holding consulting development analyst to management consulting manager and above people. Basically their Accenture job title have the word consulting or their job family in workday is consulting. You yourself will know from your contract, it will state your talent segment as consulting. Then you’re indeed going to work on consulting projects, change management is just a really small part of S&C. For projects that requires change management portion, anyone can do it even tech analyst, but usually you see more newbies like consulting development analyst trying them out as they have the closest skill sets and also serve as a training for them, I have been in a project before where the change management team consists of also business and integration arch senior analysts as well as technology specialist. So instead of what role you hold in various projects, it’s your Accenture offered role that’s the one showing where you belong and what kind of stream are you aligned to.

Errr if you want to do consulting, it’s not the pod you should be aiming for. You should be aiming to be recruited in and offered a consulting analyst position in Accenture instead of tech roles. The pods are just trying their best to align you to your role but even in the consulting pods there’s also business and integration arch or delivery analyst and even security analyst. Ultimately what determines if you’re in consulting or not is your exact offer title which also relates to your talent segment in your contract.

No one is better than the other, both are consulting and under strategy and consulting. Depends on what you like and prefer. But I would say, if you’re aiming for wider knowledge or aiming for MBB or strategy consulting in long term, probably functional consulting aspect specialisation may benefit you more as you have a broader experience and skill sets across various industries and clients. You can even explore other opportunities. As for industry consulting aspect specialisation, the consultants tend to specialised in a specific industry for example capital markets, then their clients would only be from this group such as banks. If you think about it, MBB don’t just focus one one client base, so it’s always good to have broader client experience. But end of the day depends on what you like lah and what your goal is, some people somehow prefer to work with clients from specified field.

What do business and integration architecture do? Is it really technology role? Heard a lot saying it’s implementation basically. And what’s the difference from the business and integration delivery analyst?

More so of your interest, what skills you have, there many who wants to do consulting but aren’t recruited or either leave halfway too.
What did you do in your business strategy role? Everyone here is saying change management isn’t all consulting, but not elaborating what other consulting work there is in accenture.
