Your statement is simply not true. The top talents move to the US for high pay. The mediocre or average will stay in sg. Pay is still OK, 5.5k ish for fresh grads ( at least that's what I got)

It's also WFH everyday but I work like a dog most days because there's no line between work and home anymore. If that guy thinks he can just work from home 9-5, I got some bad news for him.

There's lots of Indians but there's also lots of Singaporeans.

Every field has its pros and cons. I'm also constantly revising my coding skills on the weekend, that's how I gain an advantage over cheap contractors overseas who can't even speak proper English and use some of the popular tech framework.

you must compare apples to apples. if you compare low end jobs like book keeping and repetitive roles like AP AR, basic finance functions, you can equate them to basic CS jobs. you dont get to make a statement saying oh there low barriers to doing book keeping lets go FAANG and be a software dev. it doesnt make any sense

theres no discounting that swe have a tough life and are in demand, same fact is top tier finance/assurance people are in demand as well. compliance professionals are getting swept up easily by tech firms. can anyone do them? no. can you do it just because u have a degree in the area? no.

every field requires self improvement and learning/upgrading outside of work. supposedly putting down another field to prop up your perceived ego in picking a different field is pointless and stupid

theres no such thing as quality accounting. accounting is rule based and objective driven. smaller companies do not reap much value from creative accounting or do not require any complex accounting, of course it is in their interest to outsource and adhere to your mentioned structure

try doing that for a conglomerate and your company will implode. A&R supports FP&A and internal costing. tell that to hedge funds and private equity where they are held accountable to stakeholders and need to 'manage' their profits/figure. get good at what you are doing and wherever you go, there will be money to be made. stop whining

Totally dun understand why sinkies are still willing to come big4 and enjoy slaving their youth here. The moment you step into the office of the audit department, you can see how miserable the environment is. I have seen seniors and managers skipping meals until tio gastric/ faint. Ppl weeping and crying inside the toilet. Ppl with lifeless eyes, slouching and sticking their entire face to the laptop screen all day long. Ppl who grew from S size to mega XXXXXXL king kong. Ppl who work 24/7 365 days and expect you to reply to their pings at 2am during off peak period. Ppl who bring the entire frs to the table during lunch. And lol at the increment over the years. If you convert to hourly wage, you might even earn less than the poly xmm at bbt shop. And the most laughable one is you work until 3 am everyday during peak and you only got 1+ month bonus. ROFLMAO!!!!
