It is not everyone, eventually a lot of us engineers (civil,signals,electrical/m&e) will be shifted to operations of MRT lines. Everyone should know by now that there is still a mrt line in the pipeline, if not what is rail development team working on??

But not everyone will be roped in for this works. And ops obviously pays worse than project since it doesn’t generate revenue. That’s why you see a lot of colleagues playing for the new project roles, that will set them for the next 15 years

My RO is suggesting giving a perm role after my contract is up. So there is an opportunity to do so if you are currently in rail

Default depot equipment & maintenance project

Hi, can anyone shed any information about depot equipment & maintenance project? Interviewers themselves said quite a fair bit of OT too.

What’s your role. If it is RAOM, it’s just meetings with operators. Quite easy work if you don’t mind just hanging around in meetings

Why is NUS/NTU civil engineers paid higher than SIT engineers.

Anyone knows if there is a pay difference between NUS/NTU vs SIT? Talked to a few colleagues and realised there is a pay disparity even though our degree is recognised by the engineering board, and nus/Ntu grads seemed to be doing the same work as us SIT grads

because it is meritocratic. You don't expect the same pay if you cocked up your 'A' levels or went the poly route which is safer. It's the same as why even amongst nus/ntu grads the scholars are always paid a few hundred bucks more.

Honestly the WOG is becoming very very toxic because there are too many incompetent old guards trying to protect their own turfs. They will even drive out and terminate young rising stars who threaten their positions because they know they don’t have the skills to go anywhere else with their Director pay.
