Well paid does not mean highest paid.
Is stable with WLB, and can work for long time.
No need act blur, you earn more in private does it mean you can keep earning more or even at same rate when you old?
If so, no need to consider CS/PS.
More importantly, do you have heart to serve or just out to get $.
If no heart to serve, personal advice is also no need to consider CS/PS

HR asked me to share expected annual salary including breakdown of bonuses. How to do so since PB and AVM are based on performance and Singapore’s economy respectively?
for local U 2nd upper fresh grad, how much should I be quoting?

Any idea if MX9 or MX10 direct hire for CS/PS position is common?
Or are people supposed to be promoted into the role only after few years in PS/CS?

Direct hire for MX9 (Directors) is uncommon unless you have very specialised skillsets OR have been in civil service before in your career. Direct hires for MX10 (Senior Assistant Director/Deputy Directors) are quite common - just go see careers.gov
