Big 4 Corp department - work is actually picking up quite abit. Many companies are desperate for funding.

i hope they open more law schools here and allow 3rd class honours to take the bar exams. no reason why lawyer starting pay should be head and shoulders above the rest of the general population. i look forward to the day big 4 nq pay is 3.2k before cpf

more people should get law degrees and qualify as lawyers. improve access to justice and remove this elitist taint, like as though the only lawyers worth consulting are from the elite schools.

pro tip: your lawmentors.sg dude was an ri boy.

R&I or just corp? Doesn't that usually go to R&I

What does funding have to do with R&I?

Think financing law.

Am wondering why people choose the other big four firms unless there are specific reasons like culture and fit
Because the big 4 firms that don't front-load give about the same gross monthly salary. So during a recession, it's easier for a firm which has "front-load" to give a pay cu (which is rationalised as "cutting bonus").

Bristol and Newcastle on your list of good schools?
For that one example there are 100s of Oxbridge government leaders. Without those schools we'd be doomed. Think about who invented Ferrero Rocher and Brooklyn 99

It’s impossible to score lower than 2:1 as a law undergrad unless you’re trolling or skimping off your module load. That said, the standards for the bar is pretty much fair.

Elitist? Lol. No one is stopping poly kids and A level failures from doing up their law undergrad at minlaw approved unis overseas and sit for the bar afterwards.

Stop dissing the legal fraternity please.
