Most people go into consulting don’t stay. Just there for the exit opportunities.

Can someone explain what consulting is to this idiot? Maybe you can follow some meme accounts on social media to educate yourself.

Work is not very meaningful and require alot of dedication as it eats into your personal life very frequently with the OT.

I've been working here as tech analyst for over a year already. The allowance they give you is really not even enough to cover the late night grab rides and other expenses from working that amount of OT.

It's really not worth it man :'(. My batchmates and I are intending to leave at the 2 year mark.
Hey man, used to be from ACN so here’s my 2 cents.

1. You need to voice this out if you’re not engaged by your work. Talk to your supervisor and actively network - this is required for the type of industry you’re in.
2. If you’re aiming to quit in 2 years, make sure even if you’re OT-ing, it’s for experience that can be used to transfer into a great exit op.

You should know what you want to achieve/gain out of these 2 years, and actively work towards it.

Hi there - You know, I thought this was an issue that was unique to me but consulting my batchmates who entered at the same time with me (some in different departments), they generally share the same sentiment.

I really don't mind doing OT, but at that level of OT that we're currently doing and the work we are currently engaged in, it's really difficult to stay afloat.

Such tight deadlines but so little manpower. It really takes a toll on my mental and physical health. I've had so little time for my own wellbeing, i gained almost 15kg in a year working here.

High-stress jobs like consulting and IB are known to be like this.

It’s a question of whether the exit opportunities, salary and brand name matter more or your wlb. Grind it through and you can probably have a good exit (but not necessarily for ACN).

Actually this is the norm. How bad is your OT?

I exited to Govtech.
