I am seeking your opinion. I have been going for govt job interviews actively since early July and finally there is 1 which called and offer me. I will say that the salary and the benefits they offered me are rather good. The factors which I am considering will be the actual job scope and the location. I am not very much into staff engagement kind of role.
As such, they have asked me to go ahead with the medical review. However, I remembered 1 or 2 interviews which I went previously were good, and I might be able to get the job, just that 1 of which mentioned they are already at the end part of seeking approval to inform me about the final offer, the other 1 is that I just recently went for the interview and it requires them about 1-2 weeks time to get back to the candidates.
The job which is at the end of seeking approval to offer me has been ongoing for about 1 month or so, however, the salary they mentioned openly, is not as attractive as the job which already called and offer me!
As for the one which I just went for the interview, I do not know how much are they offering me.
I have to reply the job which offered me by early next week.
What will you guys choose?
1) Take up the job which offered me, just that the job scope and location which I might not be that comfortable, but the salary is good
2) Wait for the job which is at their end of seeking approval and offering me soon, but their salary is much lower. Job scope is ok and the location is super near my house
3) Continue waiting for the job which I most recently went for their interview. They said they will try their best to get back to me by next Wed as I already mentioned to them that I have received offer from another company.
4) Just continue sourcing for jobs as I also just applied for 2 new posts which I am very comfortable with the job scope. Location is also ok, but I do not know anything about their salary and benefits.
Will appreciate some advice from you guys please!! Thanks..

How confident are you in getting the other two jobs? Since you do not like the job scopes, no point accepting ? My advice would be to wait everything till wednesday morning. If not received, go call to check with the HR dept for both once again. If they still dragging, you can consider accept the first job offer in the afternoon.

Oh my, the other job which I mentioned I went for interview yesterday and told me they will try getting back to me next Wednesday, actually reposted their job advertisement today on the portal again.
I doubt I got the job for that agency already..
So I am left with going for a job with good pay and benefits, but not very near my house, OR a job which is near my house but pay is not good and I am expected to perform OT which I cannot claim for as there are backlog already.
I won't say I do not really like the job scope of the job which pays me better, just that if I have a choice, I will not do that scope of work, but they told me I will be rotated in 1-2 years time as they believe every employee to be an all-rounder.
Haiz, in such a headache! :/

My 80+ days wait was somewhat a similar situation like yours. It took them about 60+ days to sort out. Thankfully, my job position was not part of the strategic change.
I will say, in this kind of situation, if you know anybody inside, ask around for deeper information on this strategic change. If you don't, then just pray. Keep calm and continue calling HR to ask for updates. That's what I did.

Hey ppl, facing sort of same situation w our friend on top wanna ask for your advice. haaiz.
Started work in may this year, just after grad start liao cos i got the job in april. but job scope turn out different from original description, department got plans to re-org. 3 months in, from what i see, job scope will have almost 0 transferability, and cannot change dept now cos just started. dont foresee being in this job for long time <ie 3 to 4 yr>
my dilemma:
1. leave now while still fresh grad?
2. tank it out then ask for internal transfer, but must tong further down the road <1-2 yrs time>?

If you're pretty certain on what you wanna do, then leave asap. No point staying and picking up experience which will be irrelevant to you in future anyway.

omg 80+ days
with this kind of timeframe, seems unlikely that there will be any good news in 2 weeks time

Promises are cheap, unless it is in the company's culture or system to actually rotate people around in real life. Many organizations and HR paint a rosy picture and a bright future ahead to job candidates. Whether these will happen or not in reality is another question.

Don't be too disheartened. Reposting of a post can be due to the mere fact that there are more vacancies. Some agencies do their hires for multiple similar vacancies in cycles, so it might not be because you have failed.
