What's these essay tests about?

I had one where they test you how you respond to a few operational/strategic scenarios. In my instance, it was what had actually happened in the dept previously.

Sharing my experience applying for jobs.

Background: 5 years of working experience, 2 in MAS.

Applied for 30 govt jobs.

1. The auto-rejection ones: EDB (9 days after applying), HPB (6 days), MCI (2 months), MOH (3 months), Workforce (14 days), Yellow Ribbon (7 days).

2. The interview ones: EMA (notified me 1 day in advance for first interview, then given 11 days to write essay, then 20 days for final interview), GRA (invited me for interview 7 days after applying, but only give me 2 full days to submit essay), HDB (40 minutes for essay test), MFA (invited me for online test 1 month after application, 2 weeks later, informed about roundtable), Skillsfuture (actually rejected me 1 month after applying, but emailed me 3 weeks after that for interview, did not mention anything about rejection, then give me another test 3 weeks after the interview), Statecourt (emailed me for interview 1 month after applying)

3. The offer ones: EMA offered me 1 week after the final interview. I started working 1 month after the offer. Skillsfuture refused to let me know the salary before background check, so I declined.

Only given 1 week to sign the LOA.
Clinic not yet contacted me for medical check up and Not sure the result will be out on the spot or still need to wait again.

After medical check result out.. maybe another 2 weeks liao ba..

Already gotten interview date.
But the position is reposted again.
Does this mean the interview will be unsuccessful?

Was informed I have passed my security & medical clearance and hr verbally offered (with salary info). Been waiting for offer letter to be generated for the past 3 weeks and told its still in progress. Referees have all been contacted and no issues / lies in any of the submission.

Don't worry, they're just ****ing slow.

Most likely. Happened to me previously too.

Not really la. The system auto post the role until a right one signs the LOA and then it will be taken down.

Still proceed, the board need more leads in case candidate is unsuitable or reject the board for another offer.
