the waiting game/search continues

still waiting after 5th week of applying to SB.

finally gotten the rejection after abt 1.5 weeks

at least one item out of the bucket list instead of hanging in mid-air

Background: Applied sometime towards EOY.

Week 0 – applied online thru C@G. Contacted by HR to share more abt. the JD and obtain general info. Received a prompt to complete questionnaires on the portal
Week +1 – Received panel interview date
Week +2 – Panel interview (I had to reschedule)
Week + 5 – Attended rescheduled panel interview. Contacted by HR a couple of days later that the hiring dept was interested to proceed w hiring. HR requested for salary info and referee details. Was told to complete some online assessments
Week +8 – HR requested for previous employment’s referees
Week +10 – Radio silence from HR. Sent an email chaser, told to wait for their update
Week +14 – Received verbal offer from HR
Week +15 – Accepted verbal offer
Week +16 – Received LOA

Pending: pre-employment medical check.

When is your pre-employment medical check and result out on the spot ? Just received my LOA and pending pre-empolyment medical checkup too.. Thinking should i resign my current job first or after medical result out.

That means your medical examination is not a blocker on on-boarding if you don’t have major illnesses. So if you are healthy, you can actually resign upon HR acknowledge your LOA REVERT.

if u r given the all-clear from the medial checks,
sign & return the LOA to the new team

Sharing my experience applying for jobs.

Background: 5 years of working experience, 2 in MAS.

Applied for 30 govt jobs.

1. The auto-rejection ones: EDB (9 days after applying), HPB (6 days), MCI (2 months), MOH (3 months), Workforce (14 days), Yellow Ribbon (7 days).

2. The interview ones: EMA (notified me 1 day in advance for first interview, then given 11 days to write essay, then 20 days for final interview), GRA (invited me for interview 7 days after applying, but only give me 2 full days to submit essay), HDB (40 minutes for essay test), MFA (invited me for online test 1 month after application, 2 weeks later, informed about roundtable), Skillsfuture (actually rejected me 1 month after applying, but emailed me 3 weeks after that for interview, did not mention anything about rejection, then give me another test 3 weeks after the interview), Statecourt (emailed me for interview 1 month after applying)

3. The offer ones: EMA offered me 1 week after the final interview. I started working 1 month after the offer. Skillsfuture refused to let me know the salary before background check, so I declined.

Anyone experienced/heard of offer being retracted?

Was informed I have passed my security & medical clearance and hr verbally offered (with salary info). Been waiting for offer letter to be generated for the past 3 weeks and told its still in progress. Referees have all been contacted and no issues / lies in any of the submission.
