only thing giving me hope is that HR itself itook the initiative to call n inform me abt the strategy change and to give them 2 weeks rather den they telling me if i had called myself

Guys.. If HR inform u that they will let u know in 2 to 3 weeks after interview if u are shortlisted but 2 to 3 weeks pass and u did not receive any calls, will u call HR to check on the results of ur interview or just assume that u are not shortlisted? Thanks.

Usually on the 4th week I will call to ask. You should do so too, don't need to be shy about it.
For my case, I think 3 weeks had passed and no news from them so I called to check. In the end told by the hr that I am selected for the job but the manager had hold on to my application and too busy to approve it.
So I guess you should just call to check, who knows maybe you are selected but haven't inform you yet.

But did u eventually get the offer?
I'm of the mindset that if they never call means not offering, so why would me calling dem change anything
Hate these hiring managers who take ages to approve... How hard can it be? Sure it's clicking juz a sign off button in the system

my mindset here
1st week listing many job applications onto careers@gov portal
2nd - 4th week waiting for applications to flow in
5th week shortlisting of candidates/ another round of listing many job applications
6th week conducting interview
7th week background checks
8th week offering.
8th week will be the crucial. If nv hear the news by this week, they forgotten you as they will start shortlisting another batch of candidates.
I got one interesting experience. Not from govt but from a info company called Bloomberg. they called me up for 1st round of interview. Then one month later, they called me up for 1st round of interview for that same position. Sound similar? i think the HR system gone haywire. Imagine small HR recruitment team in each agency need handle hundreds or thousands of applications.

My experience
Week 0 - submit application
Week 2 - called for 1st intw
Week 3 - had 1st intw
Week 4 - called for 2nd intw
Week 5 - had 2nd intw
Week 6 - call from hr asking how's my job search n if I have gotten any other offers... Tells me application on hold due to some strategy/restructuring.. Says regardless will get back to me in 2 weeks to update me whether they proceeding with hiring or if position is closed due to restructuring
Week 8 - no news...

I called the HR 4 weeks after the interview. HR said pending management approval. Called HR again after 8 weeks. HR still tell me management hasn't approve and said that she will get the hiring department to call me back. I just wonder why the HR cannot give me an answer herself as she is part of the interview panel.
At least the HR inform u verbally that u are shortlisted.
