Does anyone know what’s the process for resignation? Are there cases where the principal doesn’t approve?

Asking because I want to wrap up semester one before leaving the service for good.

Your general office should have the template form. Fill in, submit.

There’s nothing the P can do to stop one from resigning , so don’t worry about that

How to not approve?

It is illegal to prevent an employee from resigning.

Some Ps may say they do not want to accept your resignation. Be polite but firm in saying it’s within your rights to resign by giving notice. Do not let them bully you into giving more than a month of notice!

Have heard of stories where the P will try all sorts of tactics to delay the staff's resignation by trying to persuade said staff to stay (basically asking to meet the staff over and over and refusing to process the resignation). If you are very clear that you want to leave, remember to include the following in your letter "I hereby tender my resignation effective dd/mm/yy."

1st time - excolleague informs R.O abt intention to resign, P wanted to meet her. She was firm about her decision. 2nd time, called down again to be dissuaded - not successful. 3rd time - warning of not being able to join the fraternity again, bad records etc given. Multiple meetings later, said colleague was still firm and tendered. However, when she tried to apply to be a flexi a year later, her application was rejected multiple times, with no explanation given.
