Hi all, I applied to HQ during the OPE and was called in for an interview. However, I have not received any news about the application (I feel ghosted)
However, on my application dashboard, it still states "in process"

Now that OPE is over, does it mean that I am not successful in the application?

Most likely they have already filled the position BUT you have nothing to lose by writing to the point-of-contact just to enquire about the status. Don't phrase it like an impatient complaint but more of a neutral enquiry, you should be fine then.

Hi, I had applied to a few branches at HQ also. Some didn't even shortlist me, one ghosted me after the interview ( even after I sent a post-interview thank-you email), one replied me, thanking me for the email and said they were still interviewing other candidates then.

No harm emailing the interviewers ( if you could recall who they were) by finding out their names (positions as well) and email addresses on the Sg Government Branch directory to thank them for the interview ( if you have not done so ) and enquire about the status of the position. It will show that you are a classy candidate and you'd never know if you would cross paths with them in the future.. Alternatively, you may email the point of contact as well.

Once you have accepted an offer, the other applications on your HRP dashboard is reflected as 'Void'. If they had rejected you outright, it will show as 'Rejected'. Not sure what the 'In Progress' status will show eventually even if the position is already filled..

I hope you were successful with your applications. I did not send a thank you email then, am regretting not sending one earlier. Nonetheless I will email the contact person and see if theres any updates. Am hating the uncertainty.

Deadweight is someone who underperforms, not meeting the minimum job requirements, but still somehow kept on the team.

Someone who does what is specified in the job description, they are pulling their own weight.

It is ridiculous to expect everyone to perform above and beyond their paygrade, and unreasonable to expect everyone to perform at managerial level for free.

GEO5s at the end of the day, are still ordinary teachers. It is not their responsibility to do any kind of management related roles (if so, then there's no need to differentiate between GEO and SEO alr).

Strangely, SEOs who are not taking KP roles are asked to step down and revert to GEO5, yet the reverse is not true. GEOs taking KP roles are not stepped up to their rightful SEO paygrade.

Agree. If those GEO5 HOTs are achieving all the C grade KRAs for GEO5 Teacher, but somehow or rather it appears that they are not pulling their weight in the school, it means only one thing: the system expects too much output from too small a headcount.

It's a strategic manpower planning failure.

I hv been around long enough to see that a lot of work is created in school by KPs who want to show their worth. Human resources are not unlimited. There is no end unless ppl tame their blardy ambitions.

Why be prudent with manpower when they can get unlimited manpower for free?

'It's the public service. You don't join for the money, you join to serve'

'You have duty of care. Must make sure students don't get short-changed (but short-changing staff is perfectly fine)'

'You are still inexperienced. You need to work smarter'

'You need to work harder, take on more responsibilities to showcase to SLs that you can perform, have leadership qualities '

'School needs, no choice, have to do'

'Everyone is doing free OT to get their C to save their rice bowls. You want to be below C?'

If you have not heard back by now, the chances are very very low. In my branch, we already know who is joining us next year from this open posting.

Hi everyone, hope the year has been treating you kindly. Wondering when is the best time to throw letter. I'm planning to leave once I collect my CONNECT payout and bonus this year. CONNECT deposit/payout says eligible for work done up to 15 Nov. What does this mean? Can I give my one month notice just before heading for holidays(End Nov)? Or is it safer to wait for CONNECT and bonus to be in my bank before giving (Mid Dec?). Will there be a chance they will withhold either if I give notice earlier? Thanks for any advice.
