Always funny to see people arguing about random topics here regarding a stale and dead industry that no parent even encourages their children to join nowadays

U got read overseas big 4 downsizing right? layoffs
Our local big 4 partner just riding the wave of the news even when we not hit.
Just pull up the numbers. Also who audits the townhall numbers? anyone wanna make a guess

but true, mid tier more satki than big 4 who only know vouching. Really depends on exposure also but big 4 clients usually have alot of things to vouch so associates usually spend most of their time vouching. Learn nothing after 2 years. when promote to senior already they will know.
How does bond work?

What happens if you just walk away?

Cause demographic here is on the older side?

Was initially confused why some kept talking about 2012, so I tested them by making a reference only young ones would get, and no one replied to it.

My friends from mid tier couldn't get a single big 4 interview despite being managers/seniors.

depends on firm and team, in my first year i already had to learn to do walkthrough, controls, adjustments, all that.
ya my referral bonus was 0 this year. sad

You have to pay 2 years of salary regardless of how long you have worked. So even if you worked 1 month, you have to pay the whole 2 years.

Also, there's a 3-4 year laptop bond where you have to pay them for the laptop so if you leave before that, you have to pay them a few k... if you think big 4 is bad, mid tier takes the cake.

A lot of the partners in mid tier are ex-big 4 themselves. Goes to show why the audit profession in Singapore will never improve.
