Not sure why you got such comments for the quitters, either you are an idiot that cant leave or drank so much koolaid that you are selling your soul to the firm (even then don't see the need for such sour comments).
They're probably a manager who is an audit lifer lol

Few years ago when I was still a undergrad, my prof told me that working in big4 is a prestigious job. And then, I got really brainwashed to this koolaid . For the first few months of my associate days, I was proud to tell my peers that I was working in big4 located at the atas CBD where bright individuals all gather. But then, as the days go along, I realized that something is very wrong when out of 10 managers I meet, only 2 are local breed. Not only that, I really wondered very hard how could some of such people got promoted to managers when they could not even string a basic sentence properly. Their review notes are hard to decipher and many times make completely no sense. They are the bunch of people who likes to OT unnecessarily and still unable to churn out any quality **** in the end. With this kind of **** environment to work in, convince me what other reasons do I have to stay?

these people also have zero EQ and basic courtesy. they won't even say hi or thank you when messaging you on teams. Some even have OCD and worry about immaterial numbers.

yes this. Many of them talk like I owe them a living. They thought as if Iím plotted to their engagement throughout my entire career. Not even a basic ďhiĒ when they teams me, still expect me to do their stuff asap when Iím already no longer plotted to their job. Everything also can urgent this urgent that. Then last min review work papers and expect you to clear their review points over the weekend cus partnerís reviewing next mon.

cos they got the work visa before sep 2023 or converted to PR. now literally cannot get new visa already. salary too low for business degree grads in their 20s, too many malaysians to score diversity points. had to cancel quite a lot of people's offer because of this.

Pay didnt rise because of covid, pay stagnated infact
The most recent pay rise is because other sectors are paying more for their fresh grads eg banking, so big 4 has to match. and salaries will scale upwards for higher rank for fairness
