LOL clearly the poster meant from bottom to top ranked.
Even for niche areas like forensic accounting, there's no way PwC and other B4 ranks last while Nexia ranks first.
Also, don't know which hat this list is pulled out from. I can also make my own random list ranking some other random area.

Is the above indeed true? I am not from big4 but I find this hard to believe. How can just "hanging around" make you a partner? Surely , u need some capabilities and surely they cannot have so many partners. If partner is so easily attainable , then where is the prestige in it

The definition of “hanging around” in B4 not the same as the layman interpretation.

Maybe they are treating it like SM roles. More partners, same no of engagement = smaller pie which means salary / prestige is lower too. Not sure why they need this strategy, maybe use it as a carrot to entice those YOE 6-10years ppl to hang on.
15 years is a long time though. You could hit SM after 8 years of services. Survival rate to SM could be 0-5 ppl out of a fresh graduate batch of 20 (20 not including subsequent mid hires from MY). Ppl generally don't try to stay at SM for too long if you are not aiming for partners. Seeking suitable opportunities outside is a much more viable working choice when you consider personal commitments / health / wlb at the age of early to late 30s.

Indeed. Just surviving day to day, and finishing what they load you with,
There’s a reason for the high turnover rate.
It’s a world where just hanging on is a challenge.

I look at my SM who is around for 15-16 years in the firm and her life is pretty good. She works from home OTOT, attends meetings mainly from zoom. If need to go on site , claim cab . Every 2 weeks have team lunch/dinner with juniors or partner and partner always pays. Work seems good, she has a healthy group of friends in the firm who rally together for meals- so work life balance is not bad as u work at own time from home

Medical benefits in big 4 are unparalled. I claimed my mothers and fathers private hospital scope charges- all fully paid by firm. All my medical claims also fully paid- no co pay. Worth it to hang around as sicknesses hit you in 40s

Exactly. Medical benefits are damn good in Big 4. I don't know why there are so many losers whining in this forum.I don't mind working until i fall sick because I know my firm will pay my medical bills.
