Siao…grind in big4 for 3-4years not enough still have to grind some more in commercial. Grind so much, ended up all the money you earn is to pay for hospital bill. Confirm plus chop heart disease and all sort of illness will say come hi before u reach 50 years old.

Should I give up pwc’s offer and jump to KPMG? KPMG offers a higher salary than PwC for fresh grad A1.

I got offered a $7K salary as commercial accountant for a construction company

Should I accept this offer because I really hated construction audits during my audit days?

When I was in school, they told me grind 3 years in big4 can get cushy job.

Come out at S2 I realised everyone looking for ppl with commercial experience, don’t want pure auditor who cannot even use SAP.

But you need commercial exp to get commercial exp, impossible paradox.

Secret is to find a job willing to take you in, even small pay cut ok, then grind another 3 years.

After you have 3 years big 4 and another 3 years commercial, your jobs prospect much better.

You from which era first?

If you old bird like me, last time construction very hard to do one. And very confusing cause different from all other sales and trading.

Since I think 6 years ago, got new accounting standard, they standardize the principles under FRS115. Construction contract just become over time revenue recognition.

If you study the one old, transit to new one need some getting used to. Take the new SCAQ also blur.
