I also won't hire an auditor who needs training. Not when you can hire an AP AR clerk desperate to upgrade their career or an auntie who already knows how to do all that and will be grateful for 3k salary.

I think this is the reason many get stuck.

No one really wants to pay 5 to 7k for someone who needs further training without commercial experience. Cannot even use SAP.

So far among those I know:
1) found someone who gave chance to train them. Eventually left with audit + commercial experience and did well but if you count the years, not really worthwhile.

2) stayed until SM, no life for 10 years, but went out into FC role where you don’t need to have SAP experience anymore

Audit is really not worth it, that's why I always laugh when idiots say audit has good exit opportunities. Hello, you go outside the years it take to reach the same salary is much shorter okay? Last year we started hiring data analysts or CS grads for financial analyst (junior FP&A) roles too. Companies would rather hire everyone except auditors.

If you really like accounting that much, just go MA or do full set instead of AP AR, then you won't have any issues.

Sap only those real big co ba. Sap need go external training also.. unless u join those listed co with share price less than 10 cent 1 LOL. So not worth it. The fc role ard 10k but with shares option..
