Emplacement is about whether you can meet the requirements, and has nothing to do with other people being hired. Check in with your supervisor regularly to take feedback.

It is common to see departments hiring aggressively now as headcount increased. Emplacement should come by the 1.5 years mark, as your director would have told you by then if you are not getting emplaced. That will give you a good 6 months to look for other jobs.

if i went for 2 interviews already but no news after 2 weeks and just saw the job ad renew today, can i say i was not chosen and move on now? career gov no updates whatsoever so a bit hanging.

Not true. The same post can be still up there because they are expanding rapidly. There is likely to be more than one postition available. Always ask the HR rep for confirmation.
