And these are ppl at least know some IT, tech, or something, but these are people just trying to please these bosses. There are many examples of such people in IMDA, and they are useless, and they just work their subordinates to the bones.
For e.g. SS who has been mentioned, SS headed construction tech, but SS know nuts about Construction in Singapore.

IMDA HR…. That’s the worst…. They are there to get bonuses. Give them hard time, ask to have their supervisor to be involved EVERYTIME. There is no use to talk to the HR personnel assigned to you, ask for the his/ her RO, even better, get the Director or CEO… That’s how USELESS IMDA HR is
Agree! All these HR dogs won't bother about what staff is facing as long as they receive their salary every month

Nope, I don't see a need to defend the leadership of IMDA. The posts and posters here already reflect how nonsensical the whole organization is.

You can easily take a look at the forums for other stat boards and ministries and see the difference yourself. The posts in those forums don't call for XX person or YY person to step down in every single page.

The fact of the matter is that IMDA has no strong reason to exist, that's why staff keep doing funny things to appear relevant.

Even if IMDA were to close down tomorrow, no one will bat an eyelid.

It's best you all get off the ship. If you want to work in an IT-related field in the public service, there are many other stat boards where you can do so.

Not sure which person you are since everyone is Unregistered, but I was referring to the person who said this:

Then you should fkin tell him/her about it before she went on the trip.

Here you are expecting your boss to follow your working hours. If he/she is in the USA then what? Wake up at 2am to clear your "urgent" work?

No wonder IMDA so cui cause the staff just don't understand the importance of planning ahead. Expecting their boss who is overseas on a work trip to somehow be available all the time for them.

Please just close down IMDA.

This JK is self entitled and thinks staff should be mindless slaves who should not question her and should always plan everything nicely to make life as easy as possible for her. She will blame staff for any minor inconvenience (you think we got nothing better to do but to disturb you ah you biatch) but thinks nothing of overworking them and making them burn their weekends and family time for her. Sociopath.

One of the sorriest things is how the poverty of leadership has affected staff. I work with IMDA on a near-daily basis and the sheer panic I hear in the voices of grown men needing to appease 'The Man' are such that I don't know whether to laugh or weep.

I can feel the abject terror radiating over the wires through my Skype chats, and every casual question about a piece of work is met with a pregnant pause as IMDA colleagues do some mental gymnastics to try and fathom if what they're going to tell me will land them in purgatory. These are mostly decent people I am dealing with, so it's a real pity to see them reduced to jelly at the thought of 'The Man' (an epithet which already sent my eyes rolling to the back of my head).

This culture of fear is patently unhealthy and I'm not sure what keeps many IMDA staff going. From what I know, the hours are long, and respect for staff is in short supply. I expect it's the relatevely decent pay, but even so, my sympathies.
