Most statboards and ministries don't hire SIM grads, unfortunately. Unless you're talking about places like PA.

Well I got verbal confirmation for a role within 3 days of my interview with LTA so I don't think that's true.

That's a faulty generalisation. You shouldn't be drawing a conclusion based on just your experience alone.

Erm. I’m from SIM UOL too. Grad back in 2020 with Sec upp hon. Starting pay $3.8K. Honestly there are lots of SIM grads that I know of… so yeah… not generalising, just stating my experience. Don’t think private uni students should deter from applying as long as your degree is accredited by the Govt. No matter what degree you possess, just give it a try if you are interested. No harm.
