Hi guys, my one year anniversary of joining a ministry is coming up and I was verbally informed by my boss that I got an above average grading. I would like to know how often it is to get default C for a fresh grad new joiner and if the rest may share the quantum or percentage MI you guys got for your first year upon joining, thanks.

Default Regrets

Anybody with prior experience in pte sector regretted entering the civil service, and subsequently left in under a year?

What's the reason, and how was the experience like for you?

This coming Jun will be my fourth year at LTA. Currently a grade 9 manager. Including this year appraisal for work done in last year, I have been getting score 5 every year over the last 3 appraisals. Is there a chance for me be promoted?

So if you get a relevant Masters from a good Uni (e.g. Masters in Public Policy from NUS and working as a policy analyst), you are likely to get a pay raise/promotion?

Just reached 1 year in ministry and received confirmation increment ~4.5%. This pushes my salary to $49xx.
I've about 4 years of relevant work in another public agency before. What's the likelihood of being promoted to MX11? 2nd upper NTU, no NS
Also will there be merit increment in Apr on top of confirmation increment?

Depending on what grade you get for PB in Mar, let's say C+, you stand a good chance of getting promoted to MX11 in Apr 2020. If you get a C this year, then Apr 2021 will be more realistic, provided you get 2 C+ in a row. All this assumes that there is sufficient estab for MX11 present in your department, so when the time comes, you can be pushed up to take a MX11 role there.

There should also be a merit increment that takes effect in Apr 2019 pay onwards.
