Loyalty doesn't pay in Singapore... But don't worry... You can still be taxi driver... Business is booming now for Comfort Delgro with fare hike... You will not die of hunger in Singapore as long as you're willing to work... Just maybe need to lose a bit of dignity and self-respect to be able to survive and feed the familiy... Hopefully your wife will not dispise you and your kids will understand... Hope you didn't commit to any expensive car loans or housing loans like many Singaporeans.. If you were living beyond your means then you will learn a painful lesson now... All the best!!

Low pay = lowly responsibilities

I am earning S$18,000 a month as an employed Senior Management alone

My other own business in Corporate Relocation and investments makes me on average S$8,000 a month at least

Total income = S$26,000 a month

And I am early thirties of age

i beg to differ.... everyone has a role in society, i do not see you as being more important as i am.

in the whole eco system of mankind , the food chain and those who involved has been present from past to present... whereas your so called senior management / business is merely created in recent times for economic purposes....

so do i call your job fictatious and being less important?

like seriously, i put cook food and put it on the table.... you?

and oh btw, there are definitely people earning more than you in their twenties, yours is nothing to shout about...

but they are not necessarily happier than me or you... heh.

Tuition Teacher

$100-$150/hour averaged.

Workin mostly over weekends and weekdays night.

Approximately 20 working hours per week, plus probably another 8 hours of lesson preparation time per week.

Starting to save up all over again after spending most savings into wedding, house, family essentials.

Married with no kid. Age 33.

Can't say I'm truly contented by the amount I'm earning, but I guess I have work-life balance.

Oh, my wife is unemployed and doing freelance at her free time while we spend most of our time with each other doing couple stuff.

From what I see, I'm not earning the most here, and I am humbly acknowledging that I'm lucky to earn a bit more than many other equally happy fellow Singaporeans who value family and life like me.

I'm doing real estate at my free time. Earned $0 per month cos just started out and focus is on my main passion in teaching.
