54000/year is extremely low.... really. On hindsight, u should consider switching job after 3 years......

41,000 to 54,000 in 6 years is really very slow....

My opinion, look for another company that value yr exp and compensate u accordingly.

you have to see what is his job scope. basically what is his position in the topnotch firm.

from my observation, this is roughly the salary progression for professionals in finance, legal and consulting (excluding bonus):

starting: $2.5-3K
after 3 years: $4-5K
after 7 years: $7-8K
after 10 years: $11-12K
after 13 years: $15-16K
after 16 years: $18-20K

Actually it's pretty decent. From your perspective, there are actually 2 ways to look at it ie fair value inn Singapore and equivalent pay in the US.

In a Singapore context, at S $12k per month, u are definitely in the upper strata of pay scale, regardless of industry.

On an equivalent US basis, u are drawing about US $120k. Singapore taxes are c. 10% as and I believe u will be subject to US taxes for amounts above US $80k. So assuming no double taxation (need to check if there is anus bilateral agreement between us and Singapore Ontathis), you will be taxed at US rates of 35% (estimated) for c. US $28k ($120k salary less $12k Singapore taxes less $80k global taxation threshold). Based on above assumptions, your take home pay is c. US $98k.

this is equivalent to a pay of c. US $150k ($98 / 0.65) ... which is very decent pay in the US where US $100k jobs are considered high paying gigs (I spent close to a decade there).

Of course, u would feel a lot richer with a $98k take home there than u would here because cars and houses are so expensive here, but purely from salary perspective, u are doing very decently.

im 23, working as a sales executive for 3 pushcarts ( Etc hiring parttimers , training them how to sell , doing sales records , payslips , and all admin stuff , and when parttimers last minute cannot work i have to go down to cover , ..so when goods arrive from overseas if im not covering duties i have to go to warehouse and pack them in the warehouse .)

i was paid 1.4k basic with 2.8% commission from all pushcarts . handphone bill $50 .

been working since last last year Dec.
there was once recently i was really unhappy and got into an arguement with my boss that im really stress as she was overseas and i was like covering duties the whole week . i asked for pay rise but she told me that she is just starting her own business and cannot afford to pay me that much . and said to trust her that she will pay me well when the business is going well in the future . in the end raised basic 200 , and transport 200 . my basic is now 1.8k.

i have no comment on this whether to trust her anot . as time is running , im doing so many things like a 2-man job . sometimes im really stress dunno what to do .

what do you guys think my pay should be getting at?

Learn from her and start your own pushcart empire. When you become a boss, pay your staff reasonable salary and don't overwork them. Don't be the type of boss that you now hate.

Yup, I'm basically taking over her duties except ordering stock from suppliers.
I get less than 1.4k commission last month as last month was a peak season sales was better, so I'm also relying on part-time worker on my pay.

I wish I could start my own business, but I don't have the capital to do so. Don't really hate her, she is a nice boss but she's very niao.. lol
