If your net worth of $2m includes your primary home where you are staying in, and assuming your condo is worth $1.5m, then you have only $0.5m to retire on, which is not enough. Assuming you need $100k pa to retire on, you need at least $2m of investments if you can generate a 5% annual return. How much is enough for retirement depends on your expected retirement lifestyle. Many people retire with much lesser, stays in a HDB flat. If you stay in a HDB flat with no loan, has $1m in cash, and lead a modest retirement lifestyle, you can definitely retire. There are old people who sold their condo and bought a resale HDB flat and then retire. For instance, they sold their condo for $2m, and then bought a HDB flat for $600k, after deducting transaction and renovation costs, they have $1.3m in cash. They are millionaires by definition but they live like ordinary folks. That's how they survive. They don't splurge the million dollar on $50k round the world trips or on new, big cars.

Depends on how you spend your time.
As for me, besides exercising which has made me very fit, I spend a lot of time reading about history, science, religion, politics, economics, geography, etc. Occasionally I will watch movies. I also do volunteer community work at a charitable organization where I am very much respected. My life is busy and more meaningful.

thanks for sharing. life is indeed not all about work, there's so much more to enjoy and contribute if only one is financially free.

I've been there and that sounds extremely boring to me. Exercise, Surf, Watch movies, help out. Eventually it becomes very very monotonous. Every day is the same. You don't look forward to weekends anymore. It's much better working regular hours in a normal job. Believe me. I don't think you have done this for long enough that it hasn't driven you nuts yet.

Boredom is a state of mind. If you find these varied activities boring, how about your work? Doing the same paper work day in, day out, same routine, office politics ..... Isn't that not boring?
I have gone through the long slog of hard corporate work for many years and I know it well enough. I am now living life, no loan, good passive income and plenty of time to pursue my interests.

Exercise, Surf, Watch movies, help out, travel, read books, learn a new hobby, interact with other people in a sport, learn a new language, try new food at new places, sleep in more, cook meals, do some gardening, take up painting, try photography, train for a marathon, go sailing.
as compared to work , work , work , work , work
