Looking to practice medical and surgical derm with minor cosmetics. Comfortable with complex medical derm (including Cyclosporine, IVIg, biologics and JAKs), and most single-stage local flaps (but non-Mohs). Currently seeing 50 patients per day.
May I know what is a reasonable annual remuneration that I can expect to receive including bonus and CPF contributions etc? Any bonus for peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals like JAAD/JEADV/BJD/JAMA? Thanks in advance.

U sounds very professional.
May apply to nuh or any other tertiary academic centre
The ballpark for a senior consultant at academic centre with good publication is 450k
After taxes abt 400k annual

Lol even specialists also made the jump into aesthetics. Curtis Medical’s anchor doctor was a former pediatric nephrologist trained in the US… even worked in KKH as a consultant… but still quit her trade and go all-in into aesthetics

Don’t jealous leh.
OPS got time to type reply in between patients?
Just because you don’t know doesn’t mean don’t exist
Continue living in your little bubble and maybe you’ll retire with a fully paid off OCR condo

23/24k a month not bad la
Ok if you find Fam Med work and admin satisfying and not stressful. Personally I find patient interaction the most potential for stress. Cos it's people. And you never know who you kena. Strong BPD types really can drag things on and take up time etc.
What I find sianz is also there is no performance related factor when it comes to clinical work. Got lah. Is how FAST you clear right? Faster you clear like you "better". But that's not really performance lah. Like actual results for the patient. Also very boring. Follow CPG. First line. 2nd line. Say same things over and over again.
I was so bored and sianz then keep hearing patients repeat to me what Dr Google says about this and that treatment is no good and "harmful". Aiyah why argue with me? You want you consider my advice lah. You dowan then just say you will decline. Finish. Must convert the Fam Dr to agree with you and swear off big pharma drug options?
So I moved into the alternative options. And interestingly made a career in it! So now it is all quite "experimental". Not to me lah cos I have been doing this for several years now. But most doctors have no knowledge whatsoever of these therapies. But got considerable demand for the small number of us physicians that do this work. Getting more recognition now from the authorities. There is no "existing protocol". We are writing the protocols for the regulatory body to learn from essentially. Exciting. And we never get people saying I dowan your treatment program leh. Then why you come?
Is like those Aesthetics. No patient goes there not wanting botox fillers or cosmetic procedures. Otherwise go there for what right?
I guess what I am trying to say is you need to find something you enjoy doing. Something that keeps you mentally stimulated. And also serve clients/patients/customers that are not often arguing with you on how you do your work. Need buy in early on from the customers/patients/clients.
As for money, I never thought this work would be lucrative. But hell yeah!
BTW I am in USA/Canada. Not Singapore.

Thank you. That's a respectable salary.
Is it recommended to complete 5 years of independent practice before applying to NUH/academic centers?
Is publication necessary for promotion to senior consultant or is it simply a matter of putting in my time and providing good patient care?

Cosmetic patients tend to present with more demanding personalities requiring significant hand holding.
Maybe in the future, but for now I prefer to focus on building up a roster of medical and surgical derm patients whom I get along with, and gradually convert those to cosmetics if they desire.
